
Désiré Charnay was an explorer, archaeologist and French photographer, famous for his photographs of the ruins of pre-columbian civilizations of Mexico. He is considered one of the greatest pioneers of the photography site.
She visited Mexico on three occasions: 1857, 1880 and 1886, photographing a huge variety of archaeological sites. He is credited with the discovery of the archaeological site #Comalco
In France managed to mount an exhibition of his best photographs, which captured the attention of the european society, to the degree that Napoleon III sponsored in 1863 edition of his book Cités et ruines americaines, in which they showed their best images.
