
The murals of Bonampak are probably the pictorial works mayan best preserved.
These paintings are found embedded in the walls of the Temple of the Murals or Structure I of Bonampak, which is located in the Lacandon jungle of Chiapas.
The quality and condition of the wall paintings at the time of its discovery allowed studies to be undertaken and interpretations very complete and cultural aspects of the life of the maya, in addition, served as a reference on how you could have been the paints in many other mayan temples.
For painting, the artists used lime mixed with a gum extracted from the trees as the olon, orchid and plum as a base to recreate the painting on the wall.
