This monument developed in limestone was in one of the walls of an ancient building of the city of Dos Pilas.
The scene shows a very important moment in the life of an aspirant to the throne, the first blood sacrifice of the prince. The young K’awiil Chan K’inich, who occupies the third position to the right, there is a ritual of initiation which includes the drilling of your penis. These ceremonies are made using a manta ray stinger. The drops of blood that come out fall inside a ceramic dish. To the left of the applicant is that his father, who ruled Two Stacks of 727 to 741 d.C. Also on the left side is the mother of K’awiil Chan K’inich.
By the middle of the scene is shown of a new king destined to succeed his father. It is clear to those present that the prince meets his duty to communicate with the gods through sacrifice from an early age
