Junajpu and Xbalamke are the gods heroes par excellence of the maya pantheon.
Their adventures summary several of the deeper values of the mayan culture and their deeds show that aspire to within their worldview.
After defeating the lords of Xibalba in a ball game, both went up into the sky, becoming the sun and the moon.
