Clay figure style Jaina

This clay figure is quite peculiar. It is made in the style of ‘Jaina’ which is the name of a small island off the coast of Campeche, Mexico.
Jaina was a maya ceremonial center occupied from very early on, we know that this island was producing a large amount of figures and whistles anthropomorphic similar to this image. As in this example, the figurines from Jaina are made with molds, with individual detail added by hand, which indicates a large-scale production, probably for export.

The individual clay seems to represent the ‘God fat’ or ‘pot-bellied’ a character in maya very mysterious and appears in almost all of the maya area, but which is not sure if it was a god, a jester, a king or a warrior.
