Cancuén

It was probably one of the most important cities of the classic maya. Due to its location it became the most important port of the downtown area, being a border between the highlands of Guatemala and the maya lowlands.

Between their rulers include Taj Chan Ahk (image 1), who seems to have been an important ruling because it has been found in a number of representations in the ruined city. During his reign the trade spread to central Mexico.
