Artistic representations of sexuality among the mayans were quite imaginative.

Or coitus or masturbation used to be represented explicitly. These acts are rather insinuated in a subtle way: two bodies confronted, the woman tilted back, a man touching a chest, the knees of the woman slightly open, etc,
The maya preferred to the imagery of the assumption and the foreplay to the specific details of the consummation. They left the rest to the imagination.
