Clay figure of a ruler captured

This intriguing figure of clay representanta a ruler captured.

We know that it is a captive, not only for her obvious position, but also because it is naked, which was a common practice when captured to a person.

By his face scarified and ornaments, we also know, that this captive was a person of high rank, most likely a king. Surely she had hair and earrings, but were made of some material that is decomposed with time.

The figure is part of the collection of the art Museum of Princeton University.
