Tikal is without a doubt one of the ancient cities most fascinating of the ancient world. For more than seven centuries, this metropolis dominated the maya lowlands, and was the scene of thousands of historical events.

The recreation digital that you see in this publication is merely an approximation of how it saw the central part of the city at its peak. Thanks to recent research we know that the city is stretched for several kilometers, between residential neighborhoods and roads built up.

If you go to image 2 and 3 you’ll see a detail of the main points of reference of the city. Although the image does not make it so obvious, walk through this old town can take up to a full day. It is a fascinating experience!
