This sculpture depicts the mayan deity Chahk as a warrior, he is holding an axe, a symbol of a lightning bolt. The two holes in the axe would have been filled with knives of stone, in his other hand he probably had a shield. We can also observe a belt padding, very similar to that of the ball players.
