
This figurine clay has a helmet removable, which allows you to have two different expressions of the same character, in addition, has a hole in the right hand where it seems to have had space for a weapon or a flag.
The figure was sacked, so it is not known where it was found or what was its context, but for its excellent state of preservation seems to have been a part of an offering in any burial. Could have been part of an altar, or perhaps his role was to represent a warrior.
It is part of The Michael C. Rockefeller Memorial Collection’ which consists of several pieces looted from Mexico and Central America, and is at the @metmuseum
